Job Description

One of Infonet's premier clients has an opening for a Crew Labor Product Owner. (1672)

TERMS: Contract

SCOPE OF WORK

• Own and prioritize the product backlog for crew labor management applications (scheduling, time & attendance, labor compliance, payroll/HR interfaces), ensuring alignment with the Product Manager's roadmap and business strategy
• Write clear, well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and process/data flow documentation that development teams can execute against without ambiguity
• Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery teams on day-to-day questions about scope, priority, and requirements
• Facilitate and actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review, retrospectives) for one or more delivery teams
• Partner with stakeholders in Marine Operations, HR, Payroll, and Crewing to gather requirements, validate solutions, and manage expectations on delivery timing
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders and ensure features meet defined acceptance criteria before release
• Track and report on sprint/release progress, backlog health, and key delivery metrics to the Product Manager and leadership as requested
• Identify dependencies, risks, and blockers across teams and escalate proactively
• Ensure all requirements and solution designs comply with data classification and information security standards, particularly where crew Personal Data (e.g., identification, payroll, health-related time-off data) is involved

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role on Agile software delivery teams
• Demonstrated experience owning a product backlog, writing user stories/acceptance criteria, and working directly with engineering teams through the full delivery lifecycle
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum frameworks and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business processes into clear, actionable requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Prior experience in the cruise, hospitality, maritime, or travel industry
• Familiarity with crew/seafarer employment structures, international labor regulations (e.g., MLC 2006), or union/collective bargaining considerations as they relate to scheduling and pay
• Experience integrating labor management applications with upstream/downstream HR, payroll, or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Workday)
• Experience working within a large enterprise technology organization with formal SDLC, change management, and security review processes

PREFERRED EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

• Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO or equivalent)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

• Yes – Position would require some travel to visit the business partners that we support, ranging 10-20%
